Tara Bliss is a Mindful Life Coach

tarablissTara Bliss is many things; a life coach to women who are ready to shift gears, a speaker to crowds that are ready to expand and open up, a Reiki practitioner, and a fear-busting pioneer with a penchant for celebrating what’s wildly weird and wonderful about each of us. Her original medicine?  Fierce and curious vulnerability.  That’s what lights her path and leads the way for her clients, program participants, and audience members.

1. What led you to meditation?

Raw foods! Cleaning up my diet was really the first step in my spiritual journey, and from there i was naturally attracted whatever it was that would bring DEPTH into my life. Crystals, affirmations, meditations… they all became important parts of my life.

2. What value has practising meditation brought to your life?

Invaluable! Absolutely invaluable. If it weren’t for my stillness practice, I wouldn’t be a soul-driven entrepreneur, or be as grateful as i am for my beautiful life. I wouldn’t have been able to attract the magnificent friends and clients I have around me, and I wouldn’t know how to live in the moment. Physically, meditation has helped me connect to my body and what it needs; I’ve lost weight effortlessly, I crave vegetables, jump at the chance to exercise, and my skin is clearing up.

3. How has meditation supported you in your professional life ?

I know that Spirit has my back- plain and simple. I know that because the work I’m doing is coming from a higher place, that all the tools I need to make it happen are coming from that place too- the ideas for a life-changing online program, the money to pay my bills, and the right advice for my clients and readers. The word is TRUST. I trust in my practice- and source energy- 100%

4. What are the biggest obstacles to your practice?

Me. I’m the only obstacle. If I’m not meditating, it’s no one else’s issue but my own. Stillness is non-negotiable to me- it’s like OXYGEN.

5. What is a quote that most inspires you and why?

‘Fear is trusting in your own power’ by Marianne Williamson. In other words, ‘in times of doubt, get out of your head, and ask for guidance while you sit in silence.’

6. What is a book that has opened you to new ideas and inspired your growth, why?

A few of my favourite spiritual books are The Power of Now- Eckhart Tolle, Conversations with God- Neale Donald Walsh, and Key to Yourself- Venice Bloodworth — all spectacular and life-changing in their own way.

7. What Mindful Music do you listen to (ie. music that grabs your full attention and brings you into the moment?)

Honestly (please don’t judge me!), there’s a beautiful song on Justin Timberlake’s new album called ‘Blue Ocean Floor’. I LOVE listening to that song at the end of a long run as I’m stretching, or to guide me into a meditation. It’s gorgeous and has such depth, and it makes me teary. For present moment awareness, and for connecting with feminine energy, I also really love music with a slow, deliberate, sensual beat.

8. Why are you being Mindful in May?

I will take any excuse whatsoever to spread the mindful message and encourage people to sit in silence!

"If we wish to be healthy, happy and clear-minded, we need to upgrade our “inner technology”of attention to meet the demands of our increasingly complex world. That's where mindfulness comes in.."
